Filtering Patterns for InstantSearch iOS

Providing filtering options is common in advanced search experiences. However, given mobile screen real estate limitations, it’s hard to include both filters and search results in the same view without the screen getting cluttered. A good filtering experience always gives feedback when the user applies a filter.

Example

As you can see in this example of a movie search interface, filtering options are displayed in a modal window with immediate feedback to let the user see their influence on the search results.
