Integrations / Platforms / Shopify / Upgrade Guides

We continuously update the Shopify integration in order to deliver the best possible search experience.

Some updates require migrations on your shop. You can find all the guides below.

New reindexing migration

Algolia is rolling out a new reindexing process which brings significant performance improvements and increased reliability.

This change is gradually made accessible to everyone. If you’d like to get early access, please reach out to the support team.

InstantSearch v4 migration

We migrated InstantSearch from version 1 to version 4, so you can make use of all latest InstantSearch features and bugfixes.

Collection search page migration

Version 1.57.0 of the integration brings improvements to the Collection page feature:

  • Improved indexing stability
  • Preparation for upcoming collection customizations and merchandising

The migration doesn’t apply to you if you installed the Shopify plugin after July 30th, 2019.

Third-party libraries migration

The Algolia for Shopify plugin used to rely on the jsDelivr CDN to host the third-party libraries that it needs.

To guarantee a better quality of service, version 1.49.0 of the integration introduced a migration of all these assets from jsDelivr to Shopify.

If you installed the Algolia for Shopify plugin after November 8th, 2018, your assets are managed by the Shopify CDN and you don’t have to do anything.
